About me

My qualification

I studied German and French at the RWTH Aachen and worked at the Gymnasium. For 20 years I was a project assistant in international companies. Since 17 years I have my own tutoring institute with one employee and up to 10 tutors. I myself also enjoy teaching students and adults again. In recent years I have taught many immigrants who wanted to learn German quickly and efficiently for their jobs. These were students and scientists from technical universities or large Aachen companies as well as business people and craftsmen.

Valuable professional experience

When I had my 2nd state exam in my pocket, there were just no language teachers being hired. That's why I took a different path, learned a lot of new things and worked for many years, first as an executive assistant, then increasingly in the IT field as an assistant with project responsibility.

Back to teaching

I have always missed dealing with language and teaching. In 2004, I started my own business in the Rhein-Sieg district, first with two, then with three tutoring institutes. This was another new challenge where I learned a lot. Homesick for Aachen, I returned there in 2015 and soon opened two more institutes. At some point, I closed the branches in the Rhein-Sieg district.

Focus on German as a foreign language

Today I have - corona-related - only a small tutoring institute in Aachen-Laurensberg. Since I have more time again and more and more foreign professionals come to Aachen with their families, I have personally concentrated on teaching German to adult foreigners.

More than grammar and vocabulary

As my curriculum vitae makes clear, I am not only able to teach grammar, vocabulary and expression, but my teaching also incorporates my professional experience in international companies as well as my knowledge of how to start and run a small business.
My comprehensive general knowledge, my experience as a mother and as the manager of a tutoring institute, many conversations with parents and good contacts to the schools in Aachen also enrich my teaching far beyond the mere teaching of the language.

Motivation and method

I work with proven DaF textbooks and supplement them with my own current materials on current events and regional studies. Every learner has a different focus. That's why I discuss your goals with you and continuously adjust the content of the lessons accordingly. My own life and professional experience is always taken into account, e.g. when founding a company or supervising a master's thesis.

I am very flexible with the topics and work according to your wishes. I am also very flexible with the materials. We can work with the well-known textbooks and/or with other materials (exercises, texts, audios, etc.), which I will send you by e-mail for free before the class.

What we do, you decide! I will then develop an individual program for you.
